Today I went with Ms. Foy's Earth Club to Bolsa Chica Beach for their annual coastal clean-up. I really enjoyed this event last year, so I decided to go again. We were assigned to pick a specific weed that had been removing nutrients reserved for the other plants on the shore of the beach. Finding the plant was not difficult once the supervisor showed us pictures as an example. The time flew by because I was surrounded by good friends and good weather. By the time I knew it, I had a trash bag full of weeds! It was truly a great experience seeing schools and organizations from all over the Southern California area helping to save the Earth as I was.
